Introducing the Dire Wolf Series

This line might be the boss's Swansong. He brought out this work of art and never mentioned it to us. Patents have been filed so that I can share the gold standard.

This is a thinner acoustic guitar, and it can be set up lefty or righty very easily. They are hand-carved. Wolf-themed, of course. The best part is that these are wired with both an acoustic pickup and an electric pickup. You can toggle back and forth. Now you can play the man who sold the world with one guitar!

The sound is fantastic in all modes. I guarantee this will be the guitar you see in a room and have to pick up and play.

Dire wolf Hybrid

Sound holes of custom design. Your choice of mahogany sides and back or Rosewood.

We have a choice of Western Spruce, Adarandak Spruce, or Sitka Spruce tops. Controls can be external and removable

Bluegrass Hills

These are through-neck hollow bodies. that can be swapped right to left. The body is made of Ambrosia Maple sides. The back is made of Cuban mahogany, and the soundboard is constructed from birdseye maple. She is equipped with a low-profile bridge, two Parsons Street Humbuckers. This is a 2-inch hollow body construction made with hand-bent sides, and hand-carved sound holes and neck.  We made her sound like the bluegrass of the days of olde. She is light and bright and just plan fun to play

Dire wolf Southpaw

The South Paw is currently only available in left-handed orientation. These are the most comfortable guitars to play out there. We created a two-position body with a beautiful fan fret custom-made neck available in 9.5 and 7.25.

We offer and stright Frets as well

Dire Wolf Southpaw Slim

The slim is the same body shape and style as the South paw, but she slopes from 1.5 inches to 1 inch. These are available in solid body and with drop tops

We offer both fan and stright Frets

Dire Wolf OG Electric

The direwolf is inspired by Doug Irwin's custom guitars for Jerry Garcia.  These have a ton of control options, from external or remote controls to installed side controls. As a nod to Doug and Jerry, these are also available with a preamp blaster and a stereo output.

Customize Your Guitar

There are few mainstream styles of necks

We pride ourselves on unique personalized necks for our customers.  Your going to be holding that neck and working the board you want it to feel right, and looking cool too.  Most headstcks tunners are inline or 3x3, but those aren't the only options. Headstock shapes can be customized as well. Our signature headstock is shaped like wolf ears

Expert Guitar Pickup Services

Upgrade Your Sound with Top Guitar Pickups

At Canale Customs, we use only the best pickups on the market. It is incredible how much a pickup can make a difference.   It is also important to pair the correct potentiometers.

We can install a pickup that looks cool on the guitar and sounds fantastic.

Regardless of your knowledge of pickups, we are here to help you in your selection process based on how and what you play. We can go from the brightest sound to the dirtiest sound around. All of our wiring is guaranteed for the life of the guitar, and there is NO buzz or hum ever.

We use single coil, Humbucker,  P90 the super cool lipstick.  Alnico or Ceramic, coil split or coil tap, passive or active, we have you covered. If you're looking for a cream di la creme, consider the DiMarzio line. You can never go wrong with a Seymour Duncan or EMG.  We also wind our own and like to use the old-school lipstick pickups from the 60s.

Wiring specials

Expert Wiring Solutions for Your Guitar.

At Canale Customs, we pride ourselves on cool and unusual requests from our customers. This started a while back when a customer wanted to go from two to one volume control and instead add a bleed pot. This was very cool, and we implemented a kill button.

The boss loved this one project, a customer who is a Nirvana superfan and cover artist.  Wanted a replica of Kirt's acoustic. For "The Man who sold the world." Kirt played an acoustic Gibson with a three-way switch and a P90 pickup installed above the sound hole. The switch went from off (all acoustic), left acoustic pickup on, and right was the p90. Very cool. Check out Kirt on MTV Unplugged on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fregObNcHC8

Regardless of your knowledge of pickups, pots, and wiring, you only need to tell us how you play and what you want it to do. The boss is a big deadhead and loves Mr. Doug Irwinn and Steve Cripe. We have made onboard sound blasters with separate outputs, so you have one with effects, one without, or one active and one passive.  We love a challenge.

Kill switches, blending pots, added tone pots, add capacitors, onboard effects, active pickup controls... we've got you

Custom Pickups

Add that plug-in option, either to amplify or to add effects

As with electric guitar pickups, there are many options. We happened to like this unit because of its consistency and quality. The battery is right behind the tuner, which makes it easy to access. I suggest that my customers remove the battery when they're not using it. Otherwise, those batteries drain rather quickly.

These involve cutting into the side of the guitar. If you have a 1937 Martian, I would go with another option. We would install a "place in" system that requires minimal to no cutting
